1. Go to the corner of Bourbon St and take a photo of the Bourbon St tiles in the sidewalk.

  2. Go to Tropical Isle, order a Hand Grenade, and make the giant grenade smoke.

  3. Walk down the street with a drink – yes, it’s legal!

  4. Eat a Krystal Burger and get a Daiquiri at the same time on Bourbon Street - just don’t expect the daiquiri to be on the online menu

  5. Find some Mardi Gras beads hanging in a tree from past Mardi Gras parades

  6. Listen to live jazz music from street performers

  7. Visit a Voodoo Shop

  8. Have a Café Au Lait and Beignets at Café Du Monde in the French Quarter

If you can't make it here, you can go to the one in the airport.

  9. Eat like a local and order a Dressed Roast Beef Po Boy.

  10. Go to Rouses Market to pick up a Muffaletta sandwich made by Central Grocery.

If you can't make it here, you can go to Moisant Market at the airport on the way home.

  11. More local must eats: a bowl of gumbo or jambalaya, Zaps Chips, crawfish, chargrilled oysters, Barqs Red Cream Soda, pralines

  12. Local alcoholic drinks: Hurricane, Vieux Carre, Abita beer, Daquiri’s (every flavor imaginable)
